At Stone Borealis, quality is measured by the harmony , energy and quality of the stones and fine metals used. The clasps and chains are either sterling silver or gold filled, not cheaper plated metals. The plated metals just did not have the high, clean energy I was looking for. The clasps and chains are either sterling silver or gold filled, not cheaper plated metals. The plated metals just did not have the high, clean energy I was looking for. The various metal beads and charms are the same fine metals, with the addition of the fine silver (99%) from the Karen Hill Tribe in Thailand. These materials are then combined with the most durable construction practices and materials available, ensuring that your personal talisman will be with you for many years. The stretch bracelets are less durable than the clasp bracelets, but they are just so much fun and let the stones dance in such playful ways that I have included some. I did use the strongest cord available, but they still may have to be restrung in several years.

All of the pieces I create are one of a kind pieces intuitively created with the available stones. The point is not to churn out industrial copies of a set "design". Remember that each stone is a unique, irreplaceable piece of the ancient Earth, millions of years old. In addition to its long Earth life, it has more recently passed through several beautiful human hands on its way to you, so also bears the imprint of these hands lovingly gathering it and crafting it into its current form. In many cases, there is a very limited supply of any particular bead type or cabochon.
Necklaces are adjustable and if you need more extender chain, I am happy to add that before I ship it. Bracelets will either fit you or not, depending on their size. I am happy to see if I can resize the one you are drawn to if I have the stones or create a similar custom bracelet.
Practicalities
The Weight of Stone.....
You will notice that I have provided gram weights in the description for each piece. If you are used to wearing substantial stone jewelry, the issue of weight may not be a factor. But for those of you who have been wearing simple metal chains you will want to take note. Many pieces typically sold as "stone jewelry" are actually tiny little pieces of stone, frequently also filled with cheap plastic fillers and metals, thus weighing only a few grams, and also having little to no energetic power. This is not the case here. I have created powerful stone talismans, with heavy fine metals. Additionally, some stones are denser and heavier than others, Jade, Celestite and Garnet coming to mind. The weight factor is one reason the strands are choker style necklaces, not long strands. I am happy to adjust the extender chain before shipping if you would like that. Another reason for the choker style is to keep it in close proximity to the electromagnetic field of your skin, rather than wearing it over layers of clothing. I believe it is more energetically powerful there.
Silver Tarnish
Silver will tarnish over time, depending on the environment. If you prefer a shiny look, I find that a short and sweet session with a polishing cloth will handily take care of any tarnish which accumulates. I also feel the loving care and attention to the piece is good for both you and the piece energetically...... The picture above illustrates the difference after a couple of minutes spent polishing the tarnish off one side of the necklace's Hill Tribe rondelles. Fine silver should not tarnish as easily as sterling silver, but I have found that it does indeed tarnish. A polishing cloth will be shipped with your necklace.
Stone Care
Different stones have different care requirements. Some are softer than others, and thus more susceptible to scratching if they come in contact with something harder than they are. A bit like us in that regard... Others do not like long immersion in water, particularly salt water or chemicals, which can deface or damage them. I suggest that you look up the care recommendations for each particular stone you have. This will be a good way to also get to know the stones and their particular characteristics better. As you can see from my workspace, I frequently keep them on Selenite slabs for recharging. It's like a little stone sauna....
